FIVE RINGS TO DESIGN BESPOKE AEROMEDICAL AND SAR SYSTEMS FOR CHC WESTERN AUSTRALIA DFES CONTRACT

CHC Helicopters has been awarded a 12-year contract to deliver the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES), Emergency Rescue Helicopter Service (ERHS) to Western Australia. The new contract includes the provision of three new state-of-the-art Leonardo AW139 helicopters, replacing the existing Bell 412 helicopters currently operated by CHC.

Five Rings has been engaged by CHC to provide bespoke design, test, certification and manufacturing support for the AW139 aeromedical and SAR modifications. Systems being integrated into the aircraft by Five Rings include multi-purpose flooring, mission consoles, aeromedical stretcher systems, medical oxygen systems, medical lighting and medical electrical power supply systems. The fully integrated and modular solution is also compatible with dual stretchers for transporting multiple patients, neonatal incubators, passengers and cargo.

The new AW139 fleet will be online and ready to assist WA communities from late 2023. Congratulations CHC!
